What sparked your desire to become a trainer?
I have always loved the fitness field. After training some family and friends in my spare time I realized it was something I was good at, and I wanted to pursue it more full time. I want to help people reach their goals.
What is your fitness background?
From a very young age I was involved in track and field, and each year participated in the Cowboy State Games. I continued with track and field and Cross-country through high school, where I fell in love with lifting weights. After high school I got involved with the Windy City Striders running group. In 2017 I found my true love - Crossfit. Since then, I have earned my Crossfit and ISSA Personal Training Certification. I have been coaching ever since. But now my new fav….Hyrox!!!
What is the best or most valuable exercise in the gym?
I think CrossFit is the most valuable exercise in the gym. It is a great mix of cardio and weight lifting, along with many functional movements that bleed outside of the gym setting. CrossFit also provides members with a great community.
What is your favorite movie?
The Lost Boys is my all time favorite movie. Who doesn’t like a good vampire movie?
What is the most important book you've read?
I think the most important book I’ve read is my CrossFit Level 1 textbook. It gave me my start in the field of health and fitness, which allows me to do what I love.
What is your top hobby or passion outside of the gym?
Outside of the gym I am very involved in my kids activities. Kickboxing and swimming take a lot of time, but it’s worth it.
