What sparked your desire to become a trainer?
As a young mom, I found myself in the gym environment with fitness magazine clippings wandering around trying to find the best way to get fit. After working at LifeTime for a couple years, I saw the impact our trainers had on people like me. I started taking some classes and eventually became certified so I could help others who were struggling as I did.  Over the last 15 years, I have accumulated numerous certifications in strength training, injury prevention, youth athlete development and nutrition so that I can bring a holistic approach to my training clients. I love working with all ages, including young athletes to help build confidence in strength, agility and athleticism in their current sport and for life beyond sports.

What is your fitness background?
I started out as a runner and that evolved into a love of strength training. Over the years, that has evolved into building strength for life outside of the gym.  My goal is to maintain strength at all times so I can say yes to any adventure.

What is the best or most valuable exercise in the gym?
Deadlifting and sprinting. These are two very simple (not easy) fundamental exercises that offer a very high return for lifelong strength.

What is your favorite movie?
The Notebook.  You can’t beat a good love story.

What is the most important book you've read?
Atomic Habits by James Clear.  I love the idea that small, consistent changes in behavior will compound over time and create massive change.

What is your top hobby or passion outside of the gym?
Outside of the gym, I love traveling with my family and doing anything outdoors.  I also love learning anything related to nutrition and wellness.
