What sparked your desire to be a personal trainer?
After completing high school sports, college athletics was eye opening. To meet and work with strength coaches and athletic trainers provided an amazing educational background. This opened up the world of strength sports and how corrective exercises can improve performance and life. This experience inspired me to want to encourage others to get stronger.
What is your fitness background?
My fitness journey started in college competing in the pentathlon and heptathlon, all while participating in internships around Chicago, coaching, and athletic training. This included the Bulls and Sox training academy, local high schools, and various community colleges. Afterwards, I pursued a career in athletic training with my early years competing in Olympic weightlifting at the national level.
What is the best or most valuable exercise in the gym?
In my opinion, squats are the best compound movement for strength and physique.
What is your favorite movie?
Howl’s Moving Castle
What is the most important book you’ve read?
In Order to Live by Yeonmi Park
What is your top hobby or passion outside of the gym?
My passion and hobby IS athletic training and sports medicine.
